Final

leave a comment »

My main goal for this project was that taking many photographs as possible and finding my own style of photo. My camera always stayed with me and i could take so many photos during this semester. I learned the way to see the world differently and capture the special moments. I can see the improvement when I compare my recent photos to my old photos, and I’m really happy about that.

For the final, I picked up ten photos that I really like. The class is over, but I’ll keep updating my photo blog in the future.

1) Do photos illustrate you stories?
2) Does each photo express different feelings?
3) Are they nicely taken?(exposure, sharpness…)

People enjoyed watching my photos, but the photos did not really illustrate the stories to them. I should be more concentrating on writing, and make connection between my thoughts and the images.

I recently bought photo papers to keep my photos in an album.
This is what I always wanted to do and It will be one of my portfolios.
I’ll only print out images that can be used as portfolio and keep them in my album.
I’m still working on my blog, and it will be updated soon.

I’m working on my blog right now, so I’m not sure what i need to do for this week; however, as I heard feedbacks from the class, I’ll concentrate on expressing my feelings and thought using writings and photos. Another goal for this project is that improving my photo enhancing skills using photoshop to create better looking images. I’m taking photoshop image class in this semester, and I’m learning many unique skills that I have never learned before. Also, I’m watching a lot of photo tutorials to find my own way to create images. I’m posting my contact sheet of my recent photos that i have taken, and I’ll post them up on my photo blog.

I created a photo blog for the project, and i want to use it as my web album.
I’ll update it every week. I believe that this activity is going to help me a lot to become a better photographer.
I’m planning to do this for my whole school year, and someday I’ll create a better blog that keeps better photos than i have right now..
Most photos were taken in Columbus because i have lost many old photos since i formatted my memory card.

Here’s a link that goes to my Photo blog.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet, but there is something that i always wanted to try.

I know one photographer who has a great talent. He is Korean, but famous in worldwide. His name is Kim Jung Man, the photographer who has been taking photography for 30 years. His works of landscape, still life, people and fashion proves that he’s been a much devoted photographer throughout his life. His works arouse a passion for the novelty and beauty.

His photos have the mood that cannot be easily created. His works have the power that touches our emotion and brings impression. I want to take pictures like he does. I’ll try to take as many photos as I can and have my own style of taking photos.

Examples of Kim Jung Man’s :

work that inspires me

I have one favorite artist named ‘Takagi masakatsu’. He is a musician and media artist. He is the one who brought me into media study, and I always try to get inspiration from his works whenever i create artworks. His works are not just art pieces. They are art pieces that have emotions, and art pieces that are free as the wind.

Here is a link that introduces Takagi Masakatsu. It seems like a Mac advertisement, but I think this video shows the best description of his art works and Takagi himself.

and these two videos are my favorite multimedia artworks, created by Takagi Masakatsu:

And I also did a video work last year, which is inspired by Takagi’s works. It’s not great, but i did my best..
